In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, we’ve seen extraordinary acts of kindness, bravery, and community spirit. From first responders working tirelessly around the clock to neighbors lending a hand, our community is filled with unsung heroes who have made a difference during this challenging time. This free, community celebration is to honor the incredible spirit of our community. The event will include:
Special Recognition for First Responders, City Officials, and Local Heroes
Live Music
Food Vendors (First Responders & Lineman Receive a Free Food Voucher)
Inflatables
And More!
Nominate a Hurricane Helene Hero
Nominate an individual, group, or organization that has gone above and beyond to support our community during the storm and its aftermath. Whether they provided essential supplies, offered shelter, helped rebuild, or simply shared a compassionate word, these heroes deserve recognition.
Let’s Celebrate Our Heroes
Selected stories will be featured on our website and social media, shining a light on the people who made a real difference in the lives of those affected by the hurricane.
Help us honor the individuals who represent the best of our community during these trying times and amplify work being done in Augusta by using #CityServeAugusta.
How to Nominate

• Include details about what makes this person or group a true hero during the Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.
• Include photos, videos, or other information that showcases their contributions.
Nominations will be cut off by Saturday 11/16 at 12pm.

CityServe, the annual day of service for the CSRA, was canceled due to Hurricane Helene. The organizers of that event are sponsoring the Hurricane Helene Heroes Celebration. This coalition of dedicated community partners includes City Hope Alliance, the Richmond County Marshal’s Office, Augusta Fire/EMA, the Office of Mayor Garnett L. John, the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, City of Augusta 311, Savannah Riverkeeper, Resourced Augusta, Alleluia Community, and many others.
