How to Sign-Up

  • Read about the different project sites below

  • Sign up by clicking “Register Now” below

  • Recruit your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to come with you!

  • Bring the necessary tools

  • On the day of the event, arrive at your project’s address. There you will sign a waiver, get a t-shirt, and receive instructions for your project.

  • If you have any questions, please email lniday@firstpresaugusta.org.

2023 Projects

Sacred heart parking

Address: 1301 Greene St.
What: plants, fence, lights, remove underbrush and shrub clean up, install permanent garbage cans
Volunteers Needed: 50

Notes: Please wear pants, and close-toed shoes. Bring gloves, shovels and pruning tools. We will remove underbrush and pick-up trash and re-plant beautiful shrubbery.

BoyScout Rd

with Commissioner Frantom

What: addressing trash and homelessness along Boy Scout Road

Masters table

What: Weeding some of the community garden, adding fruit trees

taylor street

Address:
What: Adding fruit bearing trees and bushes to a thriving community garden on Taylor Street. this will allow for the local neighbors to have free, healthy snack options at harvest time.

Living on laney

Address: Corner of Laney Walker Blvd and Phillips st.
What: Our city has a beautiful, historic story and some of the story is captured on 27 monuments that stretch down Laney Walker Blvd. This team will clean the monuments and remove any shrubbery that blocks them.

Springfield village

Address: 114 Twelfth St.
What: Spring into action with Springfield Village by cleaning up litter and shrubbery around Springfield Baptist Church, the village park, and the Old Ware School, and learn about the history this site holds.

GLM2 Race day volunteers

What: Race day volunteers for the the GLM2 5k race

Cityserve brigade

Address: 3920 Goshen Industrial Blvd.
What: if you like “ridin’ dirt roads”, this group is for you! We will use pick-up trucks to go to reported trash dumps to collect tires, furniture, and other illegal dumpings along McNutt, 4-H Club Road, Hepzibah, McBean, and others.

Magnolia Court

What: Adding resilient gardens by installing a raised bed, planting turnips and collards, and planting fruit bushes and trees

What: Planting fruit trees and bushes to give the community healthy, low-cost food and mulching the area to make it look nice and sustainable.

What: Several of the most famous Augustinians are buried here and there are several tours that teach about the history of our city through these amazing people. We will clean some of these headstones.

Embers of hope mural

Address: corner of Laney Walker Blvd and James Brown Blvd
What: The Embers of Hope Mural is a new addition to the beatification of Laney Walker Blvd. We will be planting flowers and shrubbery around the base of the mural with mulch to beautify the space.

Sand Hills Cleanup

What: We will work alongside commissioner Johnson and others to beautify the area around the Sand Hills Community Center
